Halloween Decor

My fiance and I have a long standing joke about spider webs. From some reason spiders LOVE to spin their webs all over his front porch, his back deck, the windows, the plants...I could go on and on. I really don't get it? Can someone tell me what attracts spiders? Anyway, I joke that my finace has had his Halloween decorations up early this year and I told him he had really stepped over the line when he starting decorating my car with spider webs. So in honor of his natural decorations...here are a few ways to decorate with artificial webs...

but, that is not really the way I would prefer to decorate. I like more "pretty" Halloween decor like this...

We are having some friends over this weekend for dinner and I have done very little decorating this year (due to the wedding)....so basically we've got an almost dead mum on the porch and a few pumpkins. I hope they won't mind!!

More straws...

I was browsing on etsy and came across this cute way to use striped paper straws! I can totally see this at a kid's birthday party...can't you? I love all the bright colors!!

Drink Embellishment

Lately, I have become a little obsessed with embellishing drinks. I have seen these straws a lot all over the blogosphere, but I just never get tired of them! I really wish they made them with chocolate brown stripes...would be perfect for my fall wedding!!

Get Creative!

Sometimes the most unexpected decorations make the biggest statement. I love how this door was used as decoration for an outdoor wedding! Don't forget to take some risks now and again and get creative with your decor....

Fabulous Paper

It's amazing how a little paper can add so much? I'm crazy about the colorful hanging paper balls in this image above. Talk about making a statement!

Icing on the Cookie

If you haven't discovered Icing on the Cookie in Birmingham, you are totally missing out! Their cookies are not only delicious, but they look fabulous too!!

I hosted a baby shower and ordered their onesie and bib cookies and had them add a "T" for the baby's initial. The best thing is that they packaged them in house so I didn't have to!

These cookies are perfect for a baby shower, wedding shower (they have cookies in the shape of a wedding cake), birthday party...you name it! They will definitely be a hit.

Handkerchief Guest Book

I have seen a lot of creative guest books, but this is definitely one of my favorites!! Antique handkerchiefs serve as a "paper" for guests to write a note on and then are hung on a line and displayed at the reception.
I love it! What is the best guest book you have seen??

Welcome

I have tasked my good friend Brooke to work on a "welcome" booklet for the out of town guests at my wedding this fall,  so of course when I was browsing Style Me Pretty this popped out at me! I think a welcome booklet is a great way to keep your guests informed of all the wedding festivities. There is nothing worse than forgetting your invitations for the weekend and feeling lost. With a welcome book there is no way that could happen!! It's always important to take care of your guests!

I love fall...

I bought a mum this weekend for my front porch and I have to say it looks pretty good paired with my pumpkin. I just love all the colors and natural elements associated with fall. A simple acorn paired with a place card and napkin has suddenly transformed an ordinary table into a chic one!

Sometimes I wish I were from the country and could have a wedding like this! Or from the mountains and have a wedding like this!

I love pumpkins!

I'll take an oreo please...

I'm so glad fall is here!

Pinecones

I love decorating with pine cones for fall and winter. They are the perfect accent...especially since they are free! Here are a few images I am loving...and may have to implement soon!

Something about a barrel....

I don't know what it is...but there is something about a barrel that I love for party decor! Its probably the rustic vibe that has me captivated. Whether it provides the stand for a bar, favors or flowers, I just love it! Makes me want to skip on over to the wine country again...

Fall is Here!

Fall weather is finally here....wahoo!!! Its time to break out jackets and scarves, and well... serve soup! I love soup...especially the butternut squash recipe I got from my friend Brooke last year (I wish I had the recipe with me to post, but of course I can't find it!). I've never really gotten that adventurous with my soup bowls, but after seeing this image from Martha Stewart, I think I need to break out of my traditional box!
