Need to Cool Off?

I would love to have a set, or at least one, of these Pottery Barn Drink Dispensers. These are a must have for entertaining this summer... perfect for water or your favorite adult beverage!
.

I LOVE how the lemon and lime slices add a bit of color...now if my outdoor entertaining area only looked like this...

Chic Stamps

I was at the post office yesterday trying to buy some "cute" stamps and the options the lady gave me were pretty dismal. I did a little research online and came across this fabulous web site full of a thousand different creative stamps. You can also design your own! Whatever type of invitation you may be sending out right now, there is a stamp that fits the occasion...

My Wood Obsession...

...is back! I LOVE wood, which you may remember if you have been reading my blog for awhile. I stumbled across some more fabulous wood decor on Style Me Pretty and just had to post about it once again! I'm not sure why it has me so enamored? Maybe in this case its the juxtaposition of rustic next to feminine? Whatever it is...it has fueled my obsession!

Simply Elegant

If you haven't noticed I've got weddings on my brain lately. I was just in a wedding last weekend that was gorgeous and I've got two more coming up this summer. Well, and there is MINE this fall :)! I came across this image on Style Me Pretty and I instantly fell in LOVE. I'm crazy about the simple elegance of the lace veil draped over the antique table and the classic white and green flowers. This would be so perfect for an altar at an outdoor wedding...a wedding cake table...or a guest book table. This is definitely going into my inspiration file!

More Vintage Love...

I'm just crazy about this vintage tablescape...I LOVE all things vintage...bottles...chairs...vases. I could go on and on. I'm hoping to incorporate some of these elements into my wedding this fall. The countdown is officially on...we've got less than 6 months (save the dates have gone out) and I couldn't be more excited!! But now I really have to narrow down all my ideas...and for me that is going to be really hard! I see such amazing weddings that are all so different out there in the blog world and its so tough making a decision on what I want. I'm meeting with several of my wedding vendors next month, so I am hoping they can create whatever I have floating around in my head....

Summer Party Must Have...

I hate to be a total dork, but why not provide your guests with sunscreen if you are throwing an outdoor party this summer? We all know sunscreen is very important, but we never think to put it on unless we are in a swimsuit! Look...you can even turn it into a cute display :)

MIA

I have been MIA...I know. When I started this blog, my goal was to post 5 days a week, and last week, I think I only posted twice. Needless to say, life has been busy. Work is keeping me on the road, I'm of course planning a wedding, and selling a house...and trying to stay sane in the mix of it all! I just try to stay focused on St. Lucia...that is where we will be honeymooning, and I can't WAIT!! Here are a few images from where we are staying...
.

.

If anyone has been to St. Lucia...please let me know what we need to see and do!

Bath Tub...at a Party??

I love using unique serving pieces to display food or hold drinks...and this idea below definitely hits that mark!! A vintage bath tub has been converted into a cooler for drinks. I never would have figured a bath tub could be used at a party. Never say never, huh?

Real Wedding: Kate and John

I am bubbling over today with girlish giddiness because I am so excited to post images from Kate and John's February wedding. There are oh so many reasons for my excitement but here are the top three!
.
1. This wedding is full of fabulous details...
2. I just LOVE Kate and John...especially together as a couple...
3. The photography is absolutely AMAZING!...and Ashleigh Peak doesn't even specialize in weddings!
.
.
Kate and I met 5 years ago at our first job out of school and have been working together ever since...and surprisingly not just at the same job. Somehow along the way we became a little "duo" forging our way through the difficult job of fundraising and sharing our true passion for events. So, I knew way before Kate's "big day," that is was going to be simply fabulous. With a gorgeous bride full of amazing talent, I just knew we were in for a treat!
.

.
One of my favorite elements of design throughout the wedding was Kate's playful repetition of feathers. She fell in love with a very elegant gown that she spiced up with a sophisticated yet fun feather detail, which she mirrored on her shoes and cake(a few images down).
.

Kate chose a shade of dark purple or wine as her dominant color and set it off with an accent of chartreuse, and it looked fabulous!!

I just love the images Ashleigh was able to capture of Kate and John throughout the day, but this one below may just be my favorite. The weather for February was unseasonable warm, making for the most perfect day ...
.

.
I also LOVE this cute candid moment where Kate takes a peek at the camera.
.
.
The reception was held at the Matt Jones Art Gallery and everything from the flowers to the food had an artsy touch.

.
.
.
.
Finally...the favors. If you have been reading my blog for awhile you know how I LOVE favors...and you may even know that I really love for details (at any type of event) to have significance. Well, Kate and John's favors did just that. Kate has traveled to Africa to do mission work over the last few years and her time there has truly enriched her life, and in turn she has blessed so many of the families and children she interacted with. As I was leaving Kate and John's wedding, I grabbed a favor and learned that many babies in Africa are fed with tea instead of milk. I opened up my favor and found a bag of the this tea and a note that said through the purchase of this tea, an African baby has been given the milk its body desperately needs to grow. Wow...I can't think of a better favor, can you?

P.S. To check out more images from Kate and John's Wedding, visit Ashleigh's blog!

Sneak Peek: Kate and John

.
I am BEYOND excited to post images next week from a very special wedding... of my very special friend Kate. Kate and John were married on February 20th in Birmingham, Alabama. It was the most perfect day, and I could not have been more excited to witness their beautiful wedding. The day was full of much love and happiness...what could be better than that?? I hope you will come back Monday to see more fabulous images...I promise you won't want to miss it!

Gift Ideas for Mom

Mother's Day is just around the corner and if you haven't found the perfect gift yet, here are a few I recommend...
.

I love these monogram soaps from Pottery Barn.

For the mom who loves to entertain. This cheese tray from Saks is stylish and practical.

What about a subscription to her favorite magazine or a new one!
Southern Living is always a great option.

This tote from J.Crew would be perfect for beach trips this summer.

Happy Cinqo de Mayo!!

A little bit of this...
.
.
and a little bit of that...
.
.
and you've got your start to a Cinqo de Mayo celebration! Here is a recipe to my all time FAVORITE Margarita....measurements are estimations, as I usually mix to taste...
.
By the Glass
1 shot of tequila (preferable to use a nicer label)
1/2 shot of cointreau
Fill rest of glass with equal parts of fresh squeezed orange juice and lime juice
.
...and there you will have the Perfect Margarita(named by my favorite restaurant...not me...although it is pretty perfect!)
